Project Blue Book Case File
Racine, WisconsinMarch 1956
Summary
On March 4, 1956, a civilian at Racine, Wisconsin, reported three objects in the night sky. The witness was an instructor for the Ground Observer Corps. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
The observer described three round, white objects, each about the size of a shirt button. They were flying low and circling. The objects disappeared as though a light had been switched off. The sighting lasted about half an hour. The sky was clear with about 15 miles of visibility.
The Air Force noted the case might have been aircraft but said the objects stayed in the area for half an hour. The record said the witness should have been able to give more detail and that there was not enough data for analysis.
