Summary

On May 13, 1952, near Niland, California, a deputy sheriff reported an unidentified object. The sighting happened about 0245 (2:45 a.m.).

The witness described a white, bright light. The object hovered and then moved. It appeared to be to the southwest, over Cain Springs, California.

The source thought the object might have been a balloon, but the nearest launch was a pibal balloon at El Centro, about 30 miles southwest of Niland. No firm conclusion was marked on the record card.
