Summary

On December 13, 1961, the crew of American Airlines Flight 14 reported an object over Goshen, Indiana. The sighting was made at about 1955 GMT and lasted about 6 seconds. The object was seen with the naked eye.

The object was described as approximately round and greenish-blue in color. It was very bright with high reflectivity. There was just one object and it made no sound. It was first seen 45 degrees above the horizon, then it descended toward the horizon and disappeared into it.

The Air Force record card lists this case as astronomical, a meteor. The card notes the object had the characteristics of a meteor.
