Summary

On May 26, 1962, a civilian in Fairborn, Ohio, reported an object in the sky. The report was filed on the Project 10073 record card, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The witness described the object as bright, brighter than the brightest stars, and shaped like a golf ball seen through binoculars. The color was yellow to orange. It had sharply outlined edges and was seen at night. The witness reported it sped up and rushed away and gave off some smoke or trail. It moved toward the southwest.

The card's conclusion text is not clearly legible in this document, so no firm Air Force conclusion can be reported here.
