Summary
On about October 22 or 23, 1955, civilian and military witnesses reported an object over Exeter, New Hampshire. The report came through Ground Observer Corps channels. The Air Force time stamp was 0025Z. The object was still in sight when the report was made.
The witnesses described one round object. Its size was unknown, and it appeared red and orange. The object stayed stationary. The night was clear with no wind. Fighters were sent up but could not find the object.
The Air Force concluded the sighting was possibly astronomical, likely a star or planet. The card notes the report was delayed and reached the Air Force by letter, so no further investigation was authorized.
