Summary

The OCR quality of this case file is too degraded to support a reliable summary. Pages 3 through 9 are largely illegible, making it impossible to extract factual details about the sighting itself or the Air Force's investigation beyond what appears on the cover sheet.

What the cover sheet does show is that on April 13, 1962, in Estacada, Oregon, a witness observed a flash followed by two objects flying from northeast to northwest. One of the objects later exploded. The witness used an 80-power telescope to watch the event, which lasted about 10 minutes, and heard the sound of a jet aircraft. The Air Force marked the case "unknown" and noted that additional witness questionnaires were sent but not returned, leaving insufficient data for proper analysis.

The full case file is reproduced below as held by the National Archives, comprising 9 pages.
