Summary

On May 24, 1957, at about 10:30 p.m. local time, civilians in Elkhorn, Wisconsin reported a sighting. The observation lasted about two minutes.

Witnesses saw three circular objects. The objects were red and white and about the size of lights. One witness thought it was an aircraft until a white object separated from the red ones. A sound was noted that was dimmer than normal aircraft noise.

Two other observers saw only the white object and believed it was a flare. The Air Force record (Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports) lists the case as probably aircraft.
