Summary
On May 30, 1957, a military radar operator at a site near Detroit, Michigan, observed a well-defined blip on radar scope. The object appeared about two jet aircraft in size and faded from scope approximately 30 seconds after initial sighting. When last observed, the object was on a 185 degree course. Distance at initial pickup was approximately 70 nautical miles. The object faded at 80 nautical miles. Estimated speed was approximately 1200 knots. The Air Force concluded it was likely an unidentified aircraft.
