Summary

On October 4, 1956, a civilian near Denver, Colorado reported one round, red object about the size of a pen held at arm's length. The object was seen to the west of the observer at about 10,000 feet and moved from north to south. It was last seen at a slightly lower altitude before it disappeared behind a hill.

The object was watched for about twenty seconds. The Air Force said the description, size, manner of disappearance, and duration indicated the sighting was caused by a meteor. The conclusion was probably astronomical.
