Summary
On June 23, 1960, a civilian in Crossett, Arkansas saw a bright object in the southern sky. The witness was at a baseball game and was using binoculars. The sighting happened between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. The object looked like a full moon behind a layer of haze. It moved fast from west to east. After about five seconds it disappeared behind some trees. The witness wrote a letter to the Air Force to report it. The Air Force noted the witness gave very little information. It concluded the object was probably astronomical and similar to a meteor. The card linked it to other meteor sightings in Louisiana.
