Summary
On October 2, 1951, at 2300 (11:00 p.m.) Greenwich time, a civilian near Columbus, Ohio, reported a glowing object. It was seen for about one minute. The object made no sound and appeared to turn more orange as it moved farther from the observer.
The witness first thought a flash came from a balloon. The object faded and grew smaller as if going away, and it appeared slightly smaller than the fuselage of a DC-3. The Air Force listed the case as unidentified.
