Summary

On August 13, 1961, in the early afternoon, civilians in Clayton, Ohio, reported bright objects in the sky. The report was filed on the Project 10073 record card, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The witnesses described bright, shiny spots that looked like light and appeared vapor-like, about the size of an aircraft. Two objects approached from the south-southwest, passed other objects, and went out of sight. They returned from the northeast and approached again. The witnesses reported very high speeds. The sighting lasted about one minute. The sky was bright with scattered clouds.

The Air Force concluded there was no evidence that the objects were anything other than high flying aircraft reflecting sunlight.
