Chesapeake Bay, MarylandMarch 1955

Unidentified

Summary

On March 9, 1955, between about 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., a civilian near Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, reported a round, red object. The object made no sound. It was sighted twice.

On the second sighting, the object appeared to have a denser part rather than being one even mass. It flew in a northwest direction, then reappeared from the southeast of the first sighting and drifted toward the ground or water.

The Air Force said the description was vague and the maneuvers were not detailed, and the length of each sighting was not given. The case was listed as insufficient data for evaluation.
