Casablanca, Morocco, April 1956April 1956
Summary
On April 5, 1956, at 8:15 p.m., two reports described a fiery object over Casablanca, Morocco. An employee at the meteorological station reported a round, orange fiery ball with a bluish edge traveling east to west. A second observer, M. Tahiri, described a yellow, fiery object with an unknown size. The object was observed for two to three minutes at a low altitude and low speed. It circled the city, then disappeared behind clouds. Witnesses initially considered it a meteor, but one observer, Paul Hilton at Casa Anfa Airport, noted unusual maneuvering and low speed inconsistent with meteor behavior. The Air Force evaluation concluded the sighting was a probable exaggeration of a meteor report.
