Summary

On January 22, 1954, young witnesses near Buena Park, California reported egg shaped objects. The first object was orange and about the size of a 50 cent piece held at arm's length. The sighting lasted about one minute. The objects came from the southwest and moved off to the northeast.

In a first sighting, a single object flew in a half circle around the observers and went out of sight over the mountains. In a second sighting, several objects appeared, ending in a V shaped formation during their last appearance. About a minute before, a small aircraft had been seen flying over the area.

The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The investigating officer doubted the account because of the young age of the witnesses, because no other witnesses saw the objects, and because no aircraft were confirmed in the area by area bases. The Air Force concluded the first sighting was probably aircraft and the second had insufficient data.
