# Summary

On the evening of January 31, 1956, two young witnesses in Boonton, New Jersey saw two round, white objects moving across the sky. The objects appeared small, about the size of a dime held at arm's length, and seemed to move like white clouds at an estimated speed of 500 mph. One object was positioned ahead of the other. The sighting lasted about two minutes before the objects moved out of sight heading south.

The Air Force investigated the report and concluded the sighting was probably an aircraft. The file notes that the witnesses were 12 and 13 years old and that nothing in the available information conflicted with an aircraft explanation. However, the Eastern Air Defense Force mentioned in their comments that the report had been delayed because the initial sighting was submitted by mail, which may have affected the quality of the investigation.
