Insufficient Data

Summary

On March 5, 1956, a civilian at Bedford, Ohio, reported a slow-moving object at night. The report was made under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The witness said the object was round and about the size of a basketball. It was yellow and moved slowly while revolving, with one side dimmer than the other. The object moved back and forth, including north, south, east, and west, over an estimated altitude of one and a half to three miles. It was watched with binoculars. The witness was 21 years old.

The Air Force did not reach a firm conclusion. The record said there was not enough data for analysis because the duration was not reported and the position details were vague. It noted the object might have been an aircraft beacon but said this could not be confirmed.
