Summary

In late January 1956, the Air Force recorded reports of strange objects from several parts of Afghanistan. The record card is dated around January 24, 1956. The information came through a U.S. air attache and a local news release dated January 24, 1956, from Kabul.

The reports said flying saucers in different shapes had been seen over several areas. Some were said to be round and others square. One message from a provincial governor reported that an object had landed near a town, giving a location and saying it was about 15 meters around, made of metal, with small thick glass windows. Afghan officials were said to be trying to move it to Kabul. No follow up was received to confirm the report.

The case is filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force conclusion was INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR EVALUATION.
