Summary
On May 8, 1963, the crew of a military aircraft over the Pacific Ocean reported a radar contact followed by a visual contact. The position was about 58 degrees north, 169 degrees west. The object was silver, with sunlight reflecting off its body, and was heading west at about 60,000 feet. Six crew members held it on radar and in view for about three minutes.
The object had four contrails that blended into one. The crew debrief described it as an unidentified bomber type aircraft.
The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, recorded the conclusion as an aircraft.
