Summary

On December 1, 1949, an unidentified object was detected southeast of Newfoundland during a routine training mission from Bermuda. An RAF aircraft (No. RB-29 42-94113) approached the object from the rear at 600 miles per hour. The target was detected on the AFQ-13 radar set but not sighted visually. The unidentified object approached the aircraft from the rear, then executed a 90-degree turn and faded from view after two miles. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
