Summary
On July 8, 1960, a civilian about 5 miles northwest of Big Delta, Alaska saw an object while driving on the highway. The sighting lasted about 5 to 10 seconds during the day. The object was a brilliant yellow flash with a large trail of heavy black smoke. The smoke trail was several miles long and larger than the flash itself. The object then dipped toward the earth and burned out right after the flash. Two other people saw the smoke trail but missed the flash. The weather was clear.
