Summary
On February 5, 1963, a military aircraft crew over the Pacific Ocean reported an object moving south. The aircraft was at about 10,000 feet, on top of a cloud layer, in clear conditions. The object was seen at about 40 degrees above the horizon and was watched for about 15 seconds.
The object looked about the size of a pinhead held at arm's length. It moved very fast and left a trail like a meteor. The crew reported it was very high.
The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, said the description and duration indicated a meteor. The case was carried in the astronomical, meteor category.
