Summary
On August 14, 1960, a civilian aboard a Pacific Northwest Airlines flight observed a round, bright yellow object 30 miles south of Ketchikan, Alaska. The object was larger than stars and had a flat trajectory with no maneuvering. The sighting lasted 5 to 7 seconds. The object moved from south to north and disappeared. The observation was made during daylight at ground level. The Air Force concluded the description is characteristic of a meteor.
