Summary

On March 2, 1961, around 7:15 p.m. local time, a civilian about three miles west of St. Albans, West Virginia, reported a blue white, oblong object. It was seen for about 15 seconds and moved from south to north.

The object was about 100 feet in length and appeared about two miles above sea level. It kept its position in the sky about two miles up as it passed overhead, then faded into the north.

The Air Force card states the object was probably a meteor passing through the earth's atmosphere and in the process of burning up. This card is part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official file for unidentified flying object reports.
