Summary

On February 24, 1963 (local time February 25 by Greenwich time), two airline crews over the Pacific Ocean reported a brilliant white object entering the atmosphere. The first report came from an Aloha Airlines aircraft. The object was seen at about 45 degrees above the horizon, more than 200 miles away.

The object moved northward at high speed. It burned out at about 30 degrees above the horizon. A second Aloha Airlines aircraft confirmed the sighting.

The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, concluded the report was a probable meteor sighting.
