Project Blue Book Case File
Worthington, OhioAugust 1956
Summary
On August 31, 1956, a resident of Worthington, Ohio reported seeing a small, darkish yellow object moving slowly from north to south across the sky. The witness described the object as about the size of a half dollar held at arm's length. The sighting was visual only, with no photographs or radar confirmation.
The Air Force investigation concluded that the object was probably a reflection from a spotlight at the Ohio State Fair. In their written assessment, investigators noted that the original report lacked detailed information, which made a definitive conclusion difficult. However, they stated they were willing to concur with the reporting officer that a spotlight reflection was the most likely explanation for what the witness saw.
