Summary

On May 29, 1954, at about 10:30 a.m. between Willcox and Benson, Arizona, a civilian driving from Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Tucson reported one object. His attention was drawn by sunlight reflecting off a smooth, silvery, disc-shaped object. It appeared to tilt toward him, catching the sun, and the reflection lasted two to five seconds. The object then returned to a horizontal position and the reflection was lost. He estimated it was about 50 feet across, six feet thick, and two to five miles away. He saw no lateral movement and was alone with no other witness. The Air Force conclusion was that the cause was a reflection, possibly from an aircraft, balloon, or ice crystals.
