Project Blue Book Case File
West Carrolton, OhioSeptember 1959
Summary
On the evening of September 28, 1959, a witness in West Carrolton, Ohio saw a brilliant white object moving in a straight line toward the north across the sky. The object had no tail and resembled a very bright star. The witness observed it for about five seconds before it disappeared from view.
The Air Force investigator who reviewed the case noted in the file that the object was "apparently a meteor at extreme alt." (altitude). The official evaluation form checked the box for "Possibly Astronomical" as the conclusion, though the exact reasoning behind this determination does not appear to be detailed in the available pages of the file.
