Summary

On May 13, 1958, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, two civilians reported two objects in the night sky. The sighting lasted about 1 minute and 30 seconds. The objects were round, about the size of a half dollar held up, white with a red light on top of each. One was about 5 feet behind the other. The witnesses, alerted by a low-flying aircraft, saw the objects appear in the west and disappear over the horizon in the east. The objects flew straight, in a tight formation, with no maneuvers and no sound. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the objects were possibly aircraft positioned so that only the right wingtip lights showed, or high-flying aircraft in formation with their formation and position lights visible.
