Summary

On January 21, 1954, an aircrew reported a bright white light near Waco, Texas. The sighting was made at 1556 local time by four crew members. It came in as a pilot report and was relayed to Project Blue Book, the Air Force program that studied unidentified flying object reports under its Project 10073 record system.

The crew described a single bright white light about 10 miles to the east of their aircraft, at roughly 18,000 feet. It was moving from north to south at low speed. The sky was clear.

The Air Force noted the report gave no description of shape, no size, and no length of time for the sighting. The case was marked as having insufficient data for evaluation, and no further action was taken.
