Summary

On September 27, 1957, in the evening, a witness in West Jefferson, Ohio saw one object that looked like a red fireball. It moved on a southwest course. The object crossed from one horizon to the other in about two minutes. This was a civilian, ground visual report.

The report was filed on Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably aircraft.
