Summary

On October 27, 1958, a civilian couple in the Union Dale, Pennsylvania, area reported an object over their farm. The report reached the Air Force weeks later, on November 20, 1958, through a Navy liaison officer.

The object looked like a large, grey cigar with a horizontal crosspiece resembling an aircraft elevator on its tail. The witnesses said it looked like a large jet aircraft without wings. It was flying at a very high rate of speed, just clearing the treetops, and making a loud swishing sound. The witnesses could not provide the time of day or the weather at the time.

The Air Force tried to follow up but had trouble locating the originating records. The center stated the information was very limited and that it had been unable to obtain further details. This case is part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
