Summary

On February 1, 1954, at about 8:00 p.m., witnesses near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, reported lights in the sky. The source was civilian.

The witnesses reported six lights hovering around a cosmic research balloon. The sighting lasted about five minutes. Photographs were taken, including images from a camera mounted on the balloon. The Navy was making an analysis of a negative. Photos from an aircraft were not received, and no report came from the Navy.
