Summary
On October 25, 1953, military observers reported objects over Simiutak, Greenland. The report came from radar and ground observers at an air base group, with sightings starting about 0715 local and lasting about an hour.
Observers reported two objects making many changes of direction over and around the area. One object was white and glowing and appeared not to move at all. It was southeast of Simiutak, about four miles out. The second object was to the northeast and changed color from red to green to white. Later messages added that the objects were under observation for about an hour and were lost from view as daylight approached.
Weather was clear to scattered clouds with good visibility. No identification markings were seen, and the method of propulsion was unknown. The objects were identified only as lights, one glowing white and the other changing colors. A civilian aircraft passed over Simiutak about the same time, but observers could not make contact with it. The Air Force listed the case as astronomical, identifying the objects as the planet Venus and the star Vega, with another reference to Arcturus.
