Summary

On July 14, 1951, near Rensselaer, New York, civilians reported strange objects at about 2:00 p.m. A woman called the FBI and said that she and members of her family had seen two silver objects in the sky, appearing to the southwest.

She said the objects maneuvered for about five minutes, came down quite low, then disappeared high into the sky. She could not describe them in detail other than to say they did not appear to be airplanes.

The FBI passed the report to Air Force investigators, who did not plan further investigation. The Air Force recorded the case in Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports. The conclusion was a possible aircraft.
