Summary

On March 13, 1951, near Cartwright, Labrador, a military reporting station heard an unidentified aircraft pass overhead at about 0045 (12:45 a.m.). The aircraft was heard, not seen, heading southeast. No object was sighted.

Checks with several airfields and air control centers found no flight plan or position report that matched an aircraft in the Cartwright area. The aircraft remained unidentified within the Northeast Air Command. The report noted that ionic disturbances in the area may have prevented the aircraft from reporting its position.

The Air Force recorded the case in Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports. The conclusion was a report of an aircraft, carried as an unknown aircraft, not a UFO.
