Summary

On October 12, 1957, at about 1520 (Greenwich time) near the Philadelphia airport in Pennsylvania, witnesses saw one small, very brilliant object. It dived straight down from a very high altitude, then leveled off and disappeared to the south. Its speed was estimated as very great compared with a jet in the area at the same time. There were two visual sightings from the ground. The weather was clear. There was no radar contact and no physical evidence. The Air Force record card lists the conclusion as possibly aircraft, noting it could have been a jet over the city near the large airport.
