Summary

On February 16, 1958, at 8:30 p.m. CST, a civilian airline pilot reported a sighting near Paynesville, West Virginia. The witness observed one object that was very bright, round, and bluish-green in color, resembling a flash of light about the size of a basketball. The object faded out after 15 seconds of observation. The sighting was reported by a civilian airlines source. The Air Force investigator noted the report was definitely suggestive of a fireball.
