Summary

On December 14, 1953, at about 9:53 a.m. local time over Panama City, civilians reported one object. There were many observers, including a housewife who was a military dependent. The object was watched for about 40 minutes.

The object was round, brilliant white, smaller than the sun but larger than a star. It traveled in many different directions. There was no tail. The sky had scattered clouds with unlimited visibility.

The Air Force record lists the conclusion as a weather balloon. A weather balloon had been released from Albrook at about 9:33 a.m. A weather forecaster who watched the balloon said it traveled over Panama City and moved in different directions as the winds shifted.
