Over Cincinnati, OhioFebruary 1959
Summary
On February 20 to 21, 1959, a military pilot flying over Cincinnati, Ohio, reported an object in the night sky. The sighting was about 9 p.m. local time, near 0200Z to 0620Z, and the chase lasted about 21 minutes. The pilot, a Lt. Bradley of an Air National Guard reconnaissance squadron, was flying a B-57 at 41,000 feet.
He described one round object that flashed red, white, and green lights in turn at about five second intervals. The whole object lit up while changing colors. It was about 15 miles west of the pilot in level flight. He gave chase on a heading of 270 degrees under ground control and followed it for about 200 miles while the object gradually pulled away. Three other aircraft also reported seeing it.
The Air Force concluded the object was probably an aircraft. The record card listed the conclusion as probably aircraft.
