Summary

On November 21, 1961, a civilian near Oldtown, Florida, reported an object at about 7:30 p.m. local time (0030 Zulu November 22). One object was seen, round and reddish-orange, about the size of an auto tire at arm's length. It was observed over the treetops to the south, at about 180 degrees azimuth. It then moved straight up until it looked like a star, still to the south. At high altitude it brightened, then faded slowly and disappeared. The sighting lasted about 3 to 4 minutes.
