Summary

On October 18, 1954, an object was reported off Okinawa. The report came from both military and civilian sources. The sighting lasted about ten seconds as the sun was rising.

The object was blue white and disc shaped. It moved at a tremendous rate of speed and seemed to waver up and down during flight. It made no sound and left no trail. It traveled from the southeast toward the northwest. No aircraft or balloons were known to be in the area at the time.

The Air Force record listed the conclusion as possibly astronomical, a meteor. The case was filed as part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
