Summary

On July 20, 1958, in Nunica, Michigan, a witness reported seeing an unidentified flying object at about 8:35 a.m. The object was round and shaped like an apple, colored white and red. It was positioned below the tree top level and remained in sight for five minutes, then shot straight up into the sky and disappeared. The observer saw it from her living room window. No sound or trail was reported. Weather conditions were clear with no controls or sound. The Air Force evaluation stated the data was insufficient and highly suggestive of a balloon.
