Summary

On October 7, 1956, in Norwalk, Ohio, a civilian witness reported seeing one oval-shaped object smaller than a dime. The object was colored orange to green to red to orange and moved up and down while staying in a one-mile area at 1,300 feet elevation. The object was first sighted at 020 degrees elevation and 380 degrees azimuth, then disappeared by fading from sight. It was observed visually for 40 to 45 seconds. One oval shaped object, smaller than a dime at arm's length and colored orange to green to red to orange. Object moved up and down staying in a one mile area at 1300ft elevation. 360dgr azimuth at first of sighting to 020dgr elevation, 380dgr azimuth when object disappeared by fading from sight. Object was observed visually for 40 to 45 seconds.

No significant astro body in North doscending. Clear 1300hrs, rising fm 5dgr elevation to 10dgr during sighting. Not moving as balloon would be expected to move. Possibly searchlight on haze layer. Not sufficient data for evaluation.
