Summary

In mid-March 1958, over northern Norway, an object was reported as a flying saucer. The sighting was made the night before reports reached Oslo on March 18. Witnesses said the object was elliptical in shape and that its flight came with a whistling, humming sound. One report said it lit up the sea like a floodlight as it passed over a far northern island. A Norwegian Air Force officer said there were no planes in the area at the time. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the object was probably a meteor. Because the duration was not reported, the case was also marked as insufficient data.
