Summary

On September 5, 1957, at about 2330 (11:30 p.m.) near Ney, Ohio, and Archbold, Ohio, two civilians reported a bright oval object that shined like the reflection of a mirror. The object wavered at first, then moved up and down and side to side. A bright red light flashed on its upper part. After the flash, the object moved away quickly to the southeast. The witnesses first thought it was an aircraft in trouble. The report reached the Air Force through a local justice of the peace. The Air Force record card for Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports, lists the conclusion as insufficient data for evaluation.
