Insufficient Data

Summary

On February 11, 1957, a civilian near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, reported a single object. The case was logged under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The object was brightly shining and looked about the size of a normal two engine propeller aircraft.

The object appeared to hover in the sky and was watched for about five minutes. It disappeared when the witness made a right turn on the road. The course was reported as stationary.

The Air Force said the description and the hovering effect suggested the sighting was probably caused by a balloon. Because the data was not conclusive, the case was also listed as insufficient data.
