Summary

On December 3, 1956, a witness in the control tower saw one object from NAS Key West, Florida. The object was in view for only a few seconds.

The report described one bright flash of white light. The size and distance could not be determined. There was no sound and no trail. The object was about one degree above the horizon, at an azimuth of about 90 degrees from the naval air station. The sky was clear with 15 miles of visibility. Military bases in southern Florida were checked for any flare drop or mission, and all reported negative.

The Air Force record card lists the case as insufficient data. Project 10073 was the Air Force's official record system for reports of unidentified flying objects.
