# Mulberry Corners, Ohio - July/August 1955

In late July or early August 1955, a couple in Willoughby, Ohio reported seeing a large, circular object hovering near their home north of Mulberry Corners. The man, who operated a radio and television store, said he first spotted a red light approaching at high speed as he arrived home one evening. The object slowed and stopped about fifty to one hundred feet in the air. Two powerful spotlights beamed downward, illuminating the ground below. Frightened, he ran toward his house, and his wife met him at the back door. The couple described the object as huge, flat, and circular, with a red light in front and a green light in back. A faint fan like noise accompanied the sighting. The object hovered for about five minutes, then drifted away.

An Air Force investigator visited the witnesses in June 1956, nearly a year after the event. The couple repeated their account consistently. The investigator noted that the man seemed genuinely frightened even after all that time, and that he was familiar with ordinary aircraft and emphatic that this was nothing he had ever seen before. The investigator concluded the couple had witnessed something unusual and appeared truthful, though no firm conclusion could be reached due to the passage of time and lack of additional evidence. The Air Force evaluation listed the case as unknown.
