Summary

On June 9, 1951, at 2:05 p.m. local time, a Finnish observer near Mikkeli, Finland reported sighting a disc-shaped object approximately 2 meters in diameter. The object was aluminum colored and flew straight and level at an estimated speed of 800 mph heading northwest to southeast. The sighting lasted until about 2:30 p.m., when twilight darkness began. The witness could see only the underside of the object. No noise was reported. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a probable aircraft.
